Touch Grass

The sun was beating down on the android's fur as she wandered through the city. Aries had brought her on this mission for reasons unclear even to herself. As soon as they landed the ship, he went on to work on prep for the task. Everlette was bored. When she tried to acquire attention from her Sire, he offered a dismissive head pat before telling her that she should go out and enjoy the sunlight.

"Everlette, why don't you go out and... touch grass, as they say, these days? Maybe some time outside of the station will do you good." His voice rang in her head with every step she took.

Pouting her lips, Everlette looked ahead past lowered lids as she walked around. It was true; she had spent over a month inside the space station, free to roam and do as she pleased while out in space. She hadn't seen daytime on a planet's surface in some time, so part of her agreed with Aries' suggestion. But being told to go out and 'touch grass' took the wind from her proverbial sails. What a silly request. The further she walked, the more the furred woman saw no need for being in nature or public. After all, almost everything the woman needed to entertain herself was already in her room's private hoard.

Now that she was allowed to go out as she pleased, Everlette subsequently discovered that she preferred to hole up in her own private space after all. Her personal drug was the control of having everything where she wanted it and only being exposed to what she liked. Maybe this was why going out had led to the tantrum building up inside her.

She was roaming about the city, taking in her surroundings and absently logging them into her memory, her eyes unfocused on any singular point. Her appearance demanded attention from many. Her bright hair, multiple fluffy tails, and shiny bits always received looks. Questioning first what exactly she was, seeing that she had been custom made for companionship and to answer scientific curiosity stemming from the Doctor's troubled mind. Everlette rarely had a complete explanation, just considering herself another odd experiment. Continuously learning new things about her capabilities as she was still tested regularly, just now with better conditions.

Eventually, after mapping out most of the busy area, she found herself in a cafe, coffee being the main reason; she didn't need the caffeine but craved the smell.

Patrons came and went. The staff was cute; she even noticed a few flirty remarks between customers and the barista. She was attractive: Round face, small chest, big ass, bright skin, and wavy hair. Ever's favorite part, though, was that she made a great cup of coffee.

Everlette was sipping on it, wasting even more time on her mission to 'touch grass.' She finally left an hour later, noticing that the barista's shift was ending at that same time. This knowledge sparked an idea in Everlette's head: A desire to add her to her collection.

Moving silently, she followed after the girl without being noticed until they got to a more secluded neighborhood. Ever literally pounced. She took the girl down onto a grassy yard. A quick struggle, waiting for the girl's stamina to run out so that Everlette could inform her of her new duties. Because that's how you acquired things: You caught them and took them home. She learned that from her Sire. But instead of the girl tiring out, the barista froze and slumped against the ground. Grumbling, Everlette realized the other woman had passed out. At least it made transporting her easier. Tossing her body over her shoulders like a sack of potatoes, she headed back to the ship to show off her latest item and announce that she had, in fact, 'touched grass.' Briefly, at least.

Carrying a body was not a particularly daunting task. This was lucky as Everlette had realized it would be a better way to transport it rather than drag it like she typically did. The android wouldn't want to damage the barista early on; she already imagined the joy that her Sire would have when she brought him this snack. She was rather pleased with herself as she returned to the ship's hidden spot.

Unfortunately, as she set the girl down, the barista started to regain consciousness. Everlette cursed as the girl freaked out again, trying to run away. Jerking the girl backward by her hair, her nails slightly digging into her scalp, drawing blood, she did so.

"Just listen for a moment so I can explai-" Everlette's words were cut off by the shrieking noise coming from the girl's mouth. Annoyed once again by the situation, her anger won out. Slicing the girl's throat, only to open up an entry point so she could reach inside and rip out her larynx. Dropping the girl and the mess onto the ground.

Everlette huffed out a sigh as her torso deflated. She then set herself to tugging the body to where Aries was, streaking blood through the ship as she did. Everlette couldn't hide her pout as she dropped the body at her Sire's feet. Ignoring the original purpose of the barista, Everlette gestured to the girl still in her cute apron, now stained with blood.

As if flipping a light switch, the pretty fox woman straightened herself up and spoke with a toothy grin, "Brought you a treat, Sire. Still fresh, with a good bit of blood left."

Aries was already watching her. Hearing her enter the ship and seeing her drag a body through it was enough to get his attention away from his prep work. He stared at her for a few moments, tapping a golden stylus against his lips as his vibrant eyes looked between his property and his gift.

"Everlette... did you go out and get her just for me?" He asked.

The mechanical fox nodded slowly, "Uhuh... better eat her soon, or she'll get cold."

He, too, nodded slowly in return, "Why is she dead already?"

Her pout returned, and she looked away from him, "She wouldn't let me explain the situation and screamed, instead."

The man's face twitched as he covered his amused smile with his large claw-like hand. He sighed before standing up and walking to the ship's kitchen, "Everlette, does she have identification? What is her name?"

Everlette perked a furry brow before tilting her head to read the nametag on the girl's apron, "Diana... what a boring name. Why, Sire?"

She could hear him rummaging through the fridge as he spoke again, "Read our mission file. What's the name of our target?"

She sighed and stepped over the corpse to examine the mission details, "Uhh... let's see... daughter of a mob boss... lives like an everyday citizen while attending college... oh! Her name is Dian-... oh..." As she scrolled to find the target's picture, her ears flattened.

Aries re-entered the room as he sipped a bottle of his favorite soda, "And we needed her in what condition?"

Everlette shrunk in the seat as she muttered, "Alive for interrogation..."

The tall man nodded again, "Hmmm! Look at that, huh?" He chuckled lightly and walked over to his toy, ruffling her ears and hair a bit before walking past her, "It was a low-paying mission, anyway. I just wanted to go out and do something with you. Maybe next time, alright?"

Everlette pouted again and glared at the corpse; this was clearly Diana's fault. "Alright... do I throw her out?"

"Nah, let's make sure we get rid of her remains. You ruined your last chew toy anyway, so we might as well put her bones to good use." He responded before looking back at her from the cockpit, "Either way, she is cute, after all... probably tastes good. Put her in the freezer, and we'll butcher her properly at home."

Everlette went on about her new instructions without hesitation as Aries prepared everything necessary to launch and return to the space station. Not every mission was a success.
